The Pilot In Command is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of aircraft in accordance with FAA and Chantilly Air requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. Other duties may be assigned.
Authority to operate the aircraft.
Authority to delay, cancel or discontinue a flight when, in his opinion, conditions are unsuitable for the initiation or continuation of the flight.
Authority to execute a change in the planned flight when, in his opinion, such as a change is appropriate for the safe operation of the aircraft.
Responsible for flight planning.
The suitability of weather.
Routing
Airport traffic conditions.
Airway facilities along the route to be flown.
Aircraft performance.
Responsible for conducting the flight in a safe and prudent manner in accordance with, but not limited to the following items:
Reviewing the maintenance status of the aircraft.
The conduct of a proper preflight inspection in accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual.
A complete check of weather and facilities along the route to be flown and airport to be used.
Ensure the flight is conducted in accordance with the policies and procedures set forth by the Company and/or FAA regulations.
Ensure the safety of all passengers and aircraft.
Accurate completion of all trip paperwork in accordance with current procedures.
Responsible for ensuring a thorough and complete understanding regarding the following:
Communications with passengers and Company Scheduling Department.
Coordinating with the Scheduling Department all ground handling, catering and other customer requests.
Determine that the weight and balance falls within the limits of the aircraft according to approved weight and balance computations.
Determine that the flight crew reports for duty in all proper attire and that they are mentally and physically fit for duty.
Reports to the Chief Pilot.
Must maintain currency requirements with regard to FAA physical exam.
Provide a high level of professionalism and customer service.
Education
Bachelor Degree preferred.
Requirements

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
1,000 hours total fixed wing flight time is preferred
Commercial Pilot Certificate with Multi-Engine Airplane & Instrument rating with valid ATP written
FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit
Current FAA First Class Medical certificate
Valid passport
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Must be able to meet the following checks:
Must be able to pass pre-employment Drug Screening
PRIA Background Check (to include any incidents/accidents)
Credit Check
DMV Check with valid driver’s license
Employment Verification.
Must be able to read, speak and write fluently in the English Language
Comfortable and effective with public speaking
Ability to relocate and work weekends, nights, and overnight trips.
Working Conditions
Working conditions are normal for an on demand flight operation. The working environment is subject to varying climate conditions, air turbulence, time zone changes, altitude changes, changing locations, variable hours and working conditions, dry air, jet fuel and exhaust fumes and noise levels from engines and other ground equipment.
Physical Requirements
The position requires physical exertion such as pulling, pushing, kneeling, twisting, climbing, squatting, bending and lifting of bags and equipment.
